Like Cyd said in the shoutbox... We need subjects to talk about, so here's a topic to suggest subjects for discussions/conversations/spam.

Hey, that actually looks pretty interesting =D Wasn't I Robot based on something by that Asimov guy? -------------------- |

1) Music with country influences or even country music isn't that bad. However, you shouldn't take it to far... I've been to a performance of a country band when I was in the USA and it really really really sucked... (besides the fact that our group were the youngest people there by about 20-25 years) It could also have something to do with it sort of being a semi country-blues band, though they try not to show it. Or something like that.
But for instance Ilse DeLange, who makes country-pop music has pretty nice songs (though the more sad songs of her are quite crappy). 2) what? :S 3) If you keep clicking a bit on that wiki page you gave, you find that there are a couple of books/stories with "I, Robot" in the title that are based on one of his short stories. And even a screenplay that was eventually never made. However, the movie you are referring to had originally nothing to do with Asimov himself and was originally a screenplay written in 1995 under the name "Hardwired". Later it turned into "I, Robot" and included several characters from the short stories and of course the famous Three Laws of Robotics which were introduced in 1942 in one of Asimovs short stories (named "Runaround"). (Don't you just love copy pasting wikipedia?) I never read any of his stories, though I've had the intention of doing so for a few years now Hmmm, maybe someone should make separate topics for each try... This might become very large posts if more topics are added -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Country music isn't that bad, though you should go to the less Folksy Country performances (Taylor Swift is country aswell, hough that might be a little too sweet)
Creedence Clearwater Revival is nice and more mainstream (though kinda old...) Ow and Jarno's copy pastework covered Asimov pretty well. I, Robot is a fun movie btw. -------------------- |

Indeed, can't listen to that kind of country for more than 10 seconds. For me it shouldn't get more country than, say, Lucinda Williams. And Johnny Cash has some nice country as well, but I like his less-country work better =P Creedence is nice too, but it looks like I've only got 2 songs of them atm... Any recommendations?
Yeah.. I, Robot.. I don't really see why a lot of people think that movie is bad-to-mediocre. It has a nice story/action/special effects, and the acting isn't bad either. The only bad thing I can think of, and a lot of movies have that so it doesn't really count, is that everything can be solved by just performing one action (eg. shutting down the main computer (or throwing one ring in a volcano..)). But I guess it's either that or a 3-hour ending where nothing is happening -------------------- |

Actually, I can't really think of a movie that doesn't work like that. Most movies where something has to be solved is pretty much: do this, then do this, then do this, ... etc ..., do this and in the end you put it all together and solve the big mystery (and usually get the hot chick)...
Even if they make up a problem with several solutions, they still end up doing one of those because the other solutions become useless if one is already applied and it would make a very long and boring movie if they are pursuing solutions that aren't needed. If you want something that has multiple problems that each have to be solved, go watch some tv serie -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Actually, this conversation was dead for about 2 months....
Anyway, apparently the idea of finding a new topic is a place you have something to talk about... So talk! -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

unthink? like...a song that is stuck in your head??
Well, suppose thinking of something else 'disturbing' might do the trick..although I don't think it solves the initial point. -------------------- ![]() *Time to tell tales* |
